Katelyn Cusimano

Katelyn is an Upstate native who just returned home after almost a decade abroad. In her first home-away-from-home, she took her very first yoga class. She realized there was a whole community of people doing different kinds of yoga. Here is where her desire to pursue yoga grew.

She and her husband enrolled in a 200-Hour Teacher Training in the yoga capital of the world, Rishikesh, India. After completing her 200-Hour, she started teaching while traveling in South Africa, Namibia, South Korea and soon, India. In February of 2020, she returned to Rishikesh to start her 300-Hour Teacher Training. Just as India was preparing for lockdown, she was receiving her certificate. She would then spend six additional months studying yoga. She completed a sound healing and yin course and took every opportunity to learn and guide Yoga Nidra. She hopes to honor her Indian teachers by being a vessel to spread their wisdom and teachings.

Katelyn is happiest when her hands or her toes are in the earth. She’s forever an amateur gardener and hopes to learn more about permaculture and urban gardening. She explores many of New York’s parks as often as possible with her husband and her dog. She believes in bringing yoga into all aspects of her life. She continues to study yoga therapy, philosophy, and anatomy in hopes that the things she learns can help others find relief and happiness.
